Information on Trauma

Deborah has worked with thousands of clients over 18 years with various challenges pertaining to Trauma. She has gained insight on what Trauma means to each unique individual. With her professional training and experience, she is able to clear both big ‘T’ traumas and little ‘t’ traumas with her clients.

An example of big “T” trauma would be sexual, mental, verbal or physical abuse in one’s life; robbery, accident, or military involvement. An example of little “t” trauma includes fear of flying, public speaking, fear of heights, and test taking.

Experience in the psychology field has proven to Deborah that time alone does not heal such issues. Instead, it actually tends to strengthen the impact of trauma and deepen its grasp within the constructs of the individual. Within a short period of time, the impact of the trauma starts connecting itself to other issues and events. This is why, after an auto accident, one might experience and overall fear of driving instead of just a fear of driving in the specific place and the same conditions in which the accident took place.

Often a fear, such as driving, heights, public speaking, or flying is really not about that specific action. It is something that scares fairly unabated.

Deborah’s clinical expertise, intuition and experiences skill set can pinpoint what this fear came from and then work to eliminate it permanently. Therefore, the surface fear and the core fear will be eliminated.

Facilitating EMDR within Deborah’s therapeutic environment has proven to remove the feelings surrounding client trauma and further, replaced the issue with a positive sense of well being.
